Vietnam’s exports keep growing

                    Despite the world financial economic downturn, Vietnam’s total exports in first eleven months of 2008 rose to $58.5 billion from $43.6 billion—recording growth of 34.2%.
The share of leather footwear and products was $4.9 billion compared to $ 4.1 billion for the same period in 2007, growth of 21.8%, according to data released by the state-run General Statistics Office.
Vietnam exported leather footwear worth $4.2 billion and other leather products worth $756 million during the 11-month period, showing growth of 19.7% and 35.5% respectively.
During November 2008 alone, Vietnam footwear exports stood at $400 million against $320 million in the corresponding month the year before. The export of leather products stood at $80 million as opposed to $50 million, in November 2007.
