Simple Footwear wins Gore deal

Dongguan-based shoe manufacturer Simple Footwear has announced that it has become an approved user of footwear technology from WL Gore. This means that footwear brands that are approved to use Gore-Tex technology in their shoes will be able to choose the Chinese company as a supplier.
Simple manufacturers a range of footwear options under one roof, including welted, cemented , heat-sealed and stitched out, as well as Desma direct-injected.
The company recently bought a site covering 80,000 square-metres in the Dongguan area to expand production, although it has held back on construction because of a sharp rise in costs in China.
