Brazilian brands thrive at Modacalzado and Iberpiel
The ten Brazilian footwear and accessory brands that took part at Modacalzado and Iberpiel claim to have had a very rewarding time at the fair, held September 25-27 in Madrid.
Vivian Laube, marketing advisor for the Brazilian Footwear Programme and coordinator for the Brazilian participation at the show says: "At this edition of the fair we have observed that the visitors came to place orders; there were perhaps fewer buyers, but the quality of the demand was higher. The Brazilian companies managed to establish 503 trade contacts in 21 different countries, achieving a turnover figure of $625,000. They expect to generate a figure of around $2,846,000 over the next twelve months. All in all, this fair has been highly positive for the Brazilian exhibitors".
The following Brazilian brands presented their products: Artille, Azaléia, Di Cristally, Fasolo, Freeway, Hetane, Klin, Miezko, Pé com Pé and Werner.
Ms Laube says: "Spain occupies the fifth place in the world ranking of Brazilian footwear importers. In this respect, between January and June 2008, Spaniards purchased some 2.9 million pairs of Brazilian footwear, based on a turnover of US$33.4 million.”
