Shoe component exports up

Brazil exported $722 million worth of shoe components from January to August 2008, a 15.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
The target set for the period was US$ 733 million, according to information provided by the Brazilian Association of Shoe and Leather Component Suppliers (ASSINTECAL).

The sector that grew the most was that of components other than chemicals with a 45% increase. Chemical product exports dropped 36.8% in the period.
