The organisers of the Micam ShoEvent have announced that 1,672 exhibiting companies will take part in the forthcoming edition of the exhibition, which will take place in Milan from September 17–20. Of these, 1,098 will be from Italy and 574 from other countries. All will present their 2009 spring-summer collections to buyers from all over the world.

As a side-event, there will be a meeting on the topic of training, scheduled to be held on the morning of September 19. During this meeting, the winners of an award set up by the National Association of Italian Footwear Manufacturers, together with the Italian Ministry of Education, will be announced. The aim of this project is to reduce the gap between school and work and to encourage young people to reflect upon the possibility of working in a strategic sector for fashion and manufacturing world.

Journalists from all over the world will visit the exhibition and will have the opportunity to hear an in-depth assessment of the  sector which on the afternoon of September 19.
