The number of exhibitors at upcoming shoe and accessories event GDS will be 6% higher than the number at the same event last September. Approximately 820 exhibitors from 32 countries will present 1,950 collections at the Düsseldorf show, which will take place September 12 to 14.

New brands featured will include Fossil and Fredsbruder from Germany, Dolfie and Farrutx from Spain, DC Co. from Italy, and Simple and Toms Shoes from the USA. After Germany (+9), Italy (+18%), Spain (on a par with 2007), the Netherlands (+3%), Portugal (+30%) and the UK (-9%) will have the most significant presence.

Together with Global Shoes, which be a separate event this season for the first time, 1,269 exhibitors from 40 countries will participate.
