AAFA’s lobbying costs exceed $200,000
According to a recent disclosure report, the American Apparel and Footwear Association incurred lobying costs of $235,825 in the second quarter. Issues it took up included an extension to an amendment that would require the Pentagon to give preference to domestically made products.
The association, whose members include Hanesbrands, Wolverine World Wide and Perry Ellis International, also lobbied on legislation involving affordable footwear, fair currency standards, Burma sanctions and pending footwear trade associations in Korea, Panama and Colombia.
Between April and June, it lobbied Congress, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Department of Defense, the Federal Trade Commission and other agencies.
