Irish professional golfer Padraig Harrington has become the first European in 102 years to win the British Open back-to-back. Mr Harrington finished four shots clear of Ian Poulter after a stirring finish that saw him play his final six holes in four-under-par.

Sponsored by Hi-Tec, Mr Harrington wore the company‘s CDT Super Power shoes. “It’s no coincidence that I was wearing the world’s best golf shoes in winning back-to-back Open Championships,” he said. “In some of the most testing conditions ever, Hi-Tec’s CDT technology gave me amazing balance and stability.”

The £750,000 winner's cheque also guarantees Mr Harrington's place in Europe's Ryder Cup for the match against the US in September, catapulting him from 14th to a career-high third in the world rankings.

He has been working alongside the brand for more than 12 years and was instrumental in the design and development of the CDT Power concept.
