15/08/2008
The morning session will cover studded sports footwear protocol which aims to provide guidance to manufacturers, retailer and sports brands on levels of performance expected across a range of sports. The performance characteristics assessed include components and whole shoe physical tests as well as issues surrounding the various types of studs and cleats used to improve an athlete’s performance.
After the first break there will be a seminar on sole bonding, as sole bond failure is still the main reason shoes are returned by consumers. After this a leather finishing seminar will be held, offering advice on choosing the appropriate finishing techniques for different leathers. After lunch a seminar on REACh Legislation will take place, looking at the implications of the controversial legislation.
