US-based clothing and footwear firm Jones Apparel Group Inc announced that it has expanded its l.e.i. franchise by signing a license agreement with fashion footwear company Steven Madden Ltd, which will design, manufacture and distribute a junior and girls footwear collection for under the l.e.i. brand.

l.e.i. is an acronym for life, energy, intelligence. Its products are designed to reflect the cheekiness, intelligence and wit of the modern American girl.
