Timberland sales lower, in spite of Asia growth
Footwear brand Timberland has reported a loss of $18.9 million for the second quarter of the year, compared with a loss of $19.2 million in the same quarter last year, however revenue ($224.1 million) was 6% lower than a year ago.
The company said its sales had declined in casual footwear, boots and apparel. Footwear sales fell by nearly 8% with apparel and accessories dropping by 6%.
The company’s sales in the North America fell 13%, compared to a decline of only about 1% in Europe. Meanwhile, sales in Asia rose by almost 8%.
