Footwear exports to Middle Eastern countries increase

In the first half of the year, countries in the Arab world imported Brazilian footwear worth $ 15.5 million, the Brazilian Association of Footwear Manufacturers (Abicalçados) has announced. This figure indicates a 6.46% increase compared to the same period last year.
The percentage of increase widely exceeds the 1.5% rise in total Brazilian shoe exports in the first half of 2008. Total revenue from Brazilian shoe exports in the period was $ 951 million.
