Retail group Inditex, parent company of Zara and other chains, is launching a new footwear and accessories chain on July 17.

The first store is in the town of Lugo, in the group’s home region of Galicia in northwest Spain.

The new chain will be called Uterqüe and will number 20 stores by the end of the year.

The footwear initiative is part of a wider, 600-store, EUR 1 billion expansion that Inditex has embarked on.
