Footwear technology provider the European Shoe Machinery Company has set up a new consultancy arm called ESM Performance.
The new division of the company will visit footwear factories to try to find ways of making them more efficient.
Managing director, Roberto Petrozzi, said on announcing the development: “We will look at everything from production line layout and operator efficiency to machinery downtime and spare-part consumption rates. The cost of service and implementation of any recommended changes will be based on there being a realistic return on investment in the short and long term.”
