Deckers forms China joint venture for UGG

Outdoor footwear brand Deckers has announced a new $5 million joint venture with Taiwan-based manufacturer Stella International Holdings to open retail stores and enable wholesale distribution of Deckers’ core UGG Australia brand in China.

Deckers, which plans to open one or two stores of its own in China in 2008, said it would be the major partner in the deal with 51%.
