Bangladesh leather exports growth continues

According to the country’s Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), Bangladesh's total leather sector exports were up by 10.3% to $375.8 million in first ten months of the 2007–08, from $340.8 million in the same period last year.

Leather footwear exports rose by 17.8% to $131.97 million from $112 million. The figures also included finished leather worth $236.7 million, compared to $221.8 million a year before.

Bangladesh’s total exports for all products in first ten months stood at $11.4 billion compared
to $9.9 billion in the first ten months of the previous financial year 2006–07.
