Vietnam’s export growth continues
27/06/2008
The European Union’s anti-dumping measures are still doing little to halt the inexorable growth of Vietnam’s leather sector exports. The latest figures, for the period January-May 2008, show a 19.8% increase on the same period last year, with footwear accounting for the bulk of the products shipped.
The country’s total exports for the first five months of the year were $23.4 billion, to which leather footwear and other leather products contributed just over $2 billion. This is up from $1.7 billion for the same months in 2007.
