ANCI general assembly opens

Italy’s national footwear manufacturers’ association, ANCI, opened its annual general assembly on June 9.
Its president, Vito Artioli, said in his opening address that 2007 had been a reasonably good year, with Italian footwear showing good results against “several fundamental criteria”.
While export results for Russia (+25%) and France (+4.4%), exports to the US were down by 4.5% in value and by almost 20% in volume.
