Following the news story we published highlighting the need for footwear designers in the industry in China (300,000 over the next ten years, according to a new research report from Indian analyst firm RNCOS), the former Head of the School of Footwear at Leicester College in the UK, Roger Beeby, got in touch with footwearbiz.com to suggest that the college could help China fill the gap.
He explained that the college had been running for more than 100 years and that students from over 60 countries, including China, have studied there.
The school offers a one-year intensive course and a two-year foundation degree courses, while a three-year footwear design degree is on offer at DeMontfort University in the same city.
“There is the opportunity to learn about world markets, use the latest CAD systems and improve English language ability,” Roger Beeby said.
