EU urged to keep ‘anti-dumping’
03/06/2008
The anti-dumping measures the European Union has in place to discourage European retailers from importing leather shoes from China and Vietnam is due to end in October. The European Confederation of the Footwear Industry has, however, confirmed that it will submit a document to the European Commission in Brussels asking it to put in place new measures lasting five years.
The confederation’s president, Rafael Calvo, has commented: “We shall have to wait and see how the governments in the individual EU member states react, but our organisation is completely unanimous about supporting this new measure.”
