Changes in Leicester

There have been a number of staff changes at the International School of Footwear at Leicester College recently.
Denis Maxwell has retired from his position as technology lecturer at the school. He had a distinguished career in management in the footwear industry in Lancashire before starting his teaching career.
John Spooner has been appointed as the new technology lecturer following Denis Maxwell’s retirement. Mr Spooner was trained at the college before embarking on an international career in the footwear business as a designer and technologist in Italy, France and the Far East.
At the same time, the college has announced a new foundation degree course in footwear design and distribution. The course starts in September. Leicester remains an important centre for the retail distribution, design and purchasing of footwear and the new degree content will reflect this in its content.
