Wolverine introduces corporate controller role

Casual, lifestyle and outdoor footwear brand Wolverine World Wide has announced the appointment of Michael Stornant to the position of corporate controller.

In this new role, Mr Stornant will be directly responsible for the oversight of the company's European and Canadian financial operations, and will be indirectly responsible for the financial oversight of the company's global brand business units. His responsibilities will also include leading the financial forecasting, budgeting and the credit function for all company operations. He will also continue to be directly responsible for Wolverine’s leather division.

Mr Stornant has been with the footwear company for more than ten years and has held positions of increasing responsibility within Hush Puppies brand, corporate finance and global operations. He has also served as head of internal audit. Most recently, he served in the global operations group where he was vice-president of finance and then senior vice-president responsible for all of the company's manufacturing and leather divisions.

According to the company's chief executive, Blake Krueger, Mr Stornant has demonstrated “exceptional financial expertise and operational skills in his many roles while here at Wolverine”.
