Textile institute at footwear fair

For the first time, Spanish textile technology association Aitex took part in the Futurmoda exhibition for footwear components and raw materials in Elche earlier this month.
The organisation said afterwards that this was part of a drive to develop new materials for performance footwear. Aitex's other main concern at present is to have companies in the textile space commit to its sustainability programme, 'Made in Green'. It believes this can apply to suppliers and brands in the footwear space as much as to their counterparts in apparel.
