Dutch Master brings new collection to UK

09/05/2008

Fresh from a major retrospective exhibition at Lineapelle of his work over five decades, iconic Rotterdam-based footwear designer Jan Jansen has taken his latest collection to the UK market.

Having designed extensively for Dior and other luxury brands through the years, Jansen has won a reputation for adding a unique and quirky style to every design. This season’s range sees punched leather brogues in eye-catching colours, as well as 60’s inspired monochrome wedges and Perspex sandals.

Everything goes in cycles in fashion, of course, and footwear is no exception. It was interesting then to see at Lineapelle that Mr Jansen had paired shoes from this decade with ones he designed in the 1960s, allowing visitors to see connections between the styles, but also appreciate how an original design idea had developed.

UK prices for shoes in the latest collection start at £155.
