Skins signs up production and logistics expert
US "interchangeable" footwear brand Skins has announced the appointment of Gary Sefferman as its new vice-president of production and logistics.
Previously Mr Sefferman ran his own consulting practice advising clients including Kasper/Anne Klein, Jones Apparel Group, and Tahari ASL on operational issues and process improvements in their production areas.
Mark Klein, president and chief executive of Skins, said on announcing the appointment: “We are very pleased with the appointment of Gary as he brings a wealth of experience improving operational processes within the fashion industry. Now that Skins are in stores it is a goal of ours to implement any necessary improvements to ensure that the company is running highly efficiently and Gary is the ideal person to help achieve this.”
The Skins product is a two-part, interchangeable footwear structure consisting of outer collapsible ‘skins’ and an inner orthopedic support section called the ‘bone’. The design allows consumers to purchase one inner section and numerous outer skins, resulting in multiple style variations from the same pair of shoes.
