Rural China an option for relocating manufacturers

Footwear manufacturers leaving Guangdong province are choosing other locations in China as well as moving to new locations such as Vietnam.
The Asian Footwear Association has carried out a survey that it says shows that half of the shoe factories that are leaving the southern province are moving to less developed parts of China such as Jiangxi, Guangxi and Hunan.
They are being attracted by more affordable labour and improved transport infrastructure the organisation has said.
