Crocs plant closes early

Just over 400 workers at a Quebec City manufacturing plant for Crocs have lost their jobs.
The US-based company announced the Canadian factory's closure earlier this week and workers were expecting to have to find new jobs before June. However, people coming off the night shift on April17 were told to collect personal belongings and not return.
Those turning up for work on Thursday morning were greeted with the same message.
Some commentators speculated that Crocs had changed its mind about the June closure date because it wanted negative media attention to evaporate quickly.
