Van Dal in marketing director coup

Experienced footwear marketing executive Tony Linford is joining UK-based women's footwear company Van Dal as its new marketing director. He is leaving his current position as global marketing director at Hi-Tec and will join the Norwich-based brand in mid-May.

Mr Linford has spent four years at Hi-Tec and was the main driving force behind the athletic footwear company's new corporate philosophy of "less is more", which promoted Hi-Tec shoes as having less weight but offering more performance.

In previous roles, he was head of global marketing for Ecco and launched the CICA brand for Clarks.

Van Dal's focus is on high-end, comfortable, fashionable shoes for "mature women".
