Brazilian footwear´s father figure to retire

09/04/2008

Enio Klein, professor, expert in footwear manufacturing, linguist and long-time consultant to the Brazilian Footwear Manufacturers´Association (Abicalçados) is to retire.

The much-travelled Mr Klein was a fixture at footwear events around the world for many years and was always ready to share his expert opinion on what was happening in the sector globally, but especially in his beloved Brazil.

If the Brazilian footwear sector is losing a father-figure it can draw some consolation from the fact that his expertise, wisdom and even his family name will continue to have an impact; his successor as principal consultant to Abicalçados will be his daughter, Ana Cristina.

Having led a recent delegation of Brazilian footwear brands on a promotional tour of China and hosted a delegation of US buyers at the Fimec exhibition in Novo Hamburgo, she is already making her own mark on the industry.
