The Brazilian Association of Footwear Manufacturers (Abicalçados) will celebrate its silver jubilee next month.
 
Founded on April 22 1983, Abicalçados represents large, medium-sized and small footwear manufacturing companies from all over the country, aiming to defend their interests at local and international levels.

Since 2000, Abicalçados has been developing international marketing programmes for the Brazilian shoe sector with the financial support of the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (APEX-Brasil). This has led to the name of Abicalçados becoming well known on the international footwear events circuit.

The organisation will celebrate its anniversary with a special reception and dinner party in Novo Hamburgo where its headquarters are.
