India delegation completes visit
27/03/2008
A group of business leaders has completed a two-day tour of India, aiming to promote Brazilian brands, products and expertise.
The leather and footwear components sectors were well represented in the 80-strong group, led by external commerce and development minister, Miguel Jorge.
The two countries chose the featured industries carefully as the most representative of ongoing possibilities for bilateral trade between them.
Last year, trade between India and Brazil reached $3.1 billion, a rise of almost 30% compared to 2006, but with Indian exports to the South American country standing at double the value of its imports from Brazil. This week’s trade mission will aim to redress this imbalance.
