Balkan programme for leather skills

18/03/2008

A new programme of economic development, sponsored by the Italian government, will see people from Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia and Bosnia-Herzegovina travel to Italy to learn about leather.

After training at the hands of participating Italian tanneries and leathergoods manufacturers, the learners from the Balkans will visit business sites across Italy.

Further training will take place in their home countries later with their Italian instructors travelling to help them on home soil. The initiative is aimed to give sectors such as tanning, footwear manufacturing and leather apparel production a boost in the Balkans.
