New Midec team satisfied

The new organisers of the Midec footwear event in Paris have declared themselves satisfied with the latest edition of the Paris event in spite of the “special context” surrounding it.
In a press statement they took a final swipe at the old organising team for picking dates that sat just outside the collection of fashion events known as 'Paris Capitale de la Création', which yearly draws around 600,000 buyers. The next time Midec is held, in September, it will form part of this mega-event.
They said the numbers for this Midec, the last that will take place as a standalone exhibition, were comparative to previous shows, but made it clear they are convinced Midec will benefit greatly from associating itself with the larger group of fashion events. They said children's footwear was the sector that suffered most from this.
