Organisers have described the fifth Australian Shoe Fair (ASF), held in Sydney on February 17-19, as an “overwhelming success”, having attracted 160 exhibitors who showcased their spring/summer 2009 collections for men, women and children in front of “thousands of buyers”.

Welcoming visitors from across Australia, South America, Asia, Europe and New Zealand, the show featured a range of events including fashion runway shows and podiatry seminars.

The event also attracted many first time exhibitors including Swiss technology brand MBT footwear. Commenting on the event Simon Cron from MBT said: “The Shoe Fair was great for us, as a large number of medical professionals attended, which meant there was a high level of exposure to that industry. The

Shoe Fair gave us the chance to offer experiential learning to our target market, meaning buyers actually got to try the shoe and see how it felt on, rather than just hearing about it.”

The next show will take place in Melbourne in September.
