With several big name European football stars in attendance, adidas unveiled the latest version of its customisable football boot, theF50 TUNiT at a ceremony in Barcelona.

With the third generation of the F50 concept players can choose from three different materials for the upper (a durable non-absorbent synthetic, a soft leather, and an ultra-light, breathable ClimaCool material), two different chassis, two different insoles (a premoulded, soft and slightly cushioned insole or a lightweight thinner, perforated, breathable sock liner) and three stud systems to allow them to customise the football boot according to both personal preferences and weather conditions.

In addition adidas has added a new element with the use of a transparent TPU to further reduce the weight of the shoe and, because of different degrees of hardness, greater stability and flexibility.

Players endorsing the new boot include Lionel Messi (FC Barcelona), David Villa (Valencia CF), Lukas Podolski and Bastian Schweinsteiger (FC Bayern Munich), Kevin Kuranyi (FC Schalke 04), Djibril Cissé and Samir Nasri (Olympique de Marseille), Jermain Defoe (Portsmouth FC), Ashley Young (Aston Villa), Christian Wilhelmsson (Deportivo La Coruna), Diego Forlán (Atlético de Madrid) and Isa Halim (Young Lions, Singapore).
