Following the company’s former vice president (VP) of Footwear Design’s move to its Converse brand last month (see www.footwearbiz.com January 29, 2008), Nike has appointed a new VP, Peter Hudson, to take over responsibility for directing and developing global footwear design for the Nike brand. He will report to Sandy Bodecker, vice president of Global Design and Eric Sprunk, vice president of Global Footwear.

With more than 16 years’ experience in design, Mr Hudson most recently served as creative director for Nike’s Sport Performance division.

“Peter is an experienced Nike leader whose focus on innovation and design has helped Nike set new performance benchmarks in products such as the Mercurial Vapor, Total 90, and the World Cup ’06 World Football collection,” said Sandy Bodecker. “He has played a significant role in the success of the Nike brand and we look forward to his design leadership as we continue to create premium performance products worldwide.”
