Simple does not “tire” in its environmental commitment
Although it may use recycled tyres in its footwear, Simple Shoes is far from “tiring” in its efforts to promote environmental protection having launched a new collection, called ecoSNEAKS.
Hoping to follow on from the company’s success with its 2007 special edition Green Toe Toepeeka flip-flop, Simple has expanded its support for StopGlobalWarming.org with special edition ecoSNEAKS and bag collections in celebration of Earth Day on April 22.
The collections are all made with sustainable materials such as hemp uppers, recycled car tyre soles, organic cotton linings, and recycled plastic bottles (PET) shoe laces and foot beds and include special versions of the brand’s “Snotire” sneaker for men, women’s “Satire” sneaker, and men’s and women’s “Retire” slip-on. $5 from the sale of each pair is then donated to StopGlobalWarming.org.
“We are committed to making our products 100% sustainable. StopGlobalWarming.org provides common voice that empowers everyone. When it comes to the planet, we are in this together,” said Monica DeVreese, brand manager.
