Organisers of the Brazil’s International Fair of Leather, Chemical Products, Components and Accessories, Equipment and Machines for Footwear and Tanneries, Fimec, have high hopes for the 32nd edition of the event, to be held in Rio Grande do Sul on April 8-11, as a result of the “projected stability of the Brazilian economy, the development of new technologies, the creativity of the domestic industry in overcoming currency exchange issues, and the opening of new markets worldwide”.

The fair is expected to attract approximately 50,000 visitors from about 42 countries and some 1,200 exhibitors making it the largest such event in the Americas and ranking it amongst the three largest shows in the world in terms of size.

"The current time is very positive. Since last year, we have been in contact with businesspeople from several states and also abroad and found there is great expectation regarding Fimec. This fair is really quite special because it brings together technology, releases, and new products and services, thus becoming a major stage for business contacts and closing deals," said Júlio Cézar Camerini, president and director of Fenac S/A, which organises the show.
