Golf shoe prices rise

According to preliminary data released by America’s NSGA Sporting Goods Market in 2008, the average price of golf shoes in 2007 increased 2.1% to $63.49, compared with $62.17 in 2006, making golf shoes the second highest average-priced footwear among the 25 categories surveyed by the association, beaten only by hunting boots with an average price of $70.09.

Males spent more on golf shoes than females, handing out an average $65.54 per pair versus $56.63 by women, while the 35-44 year-old group spent the most, with an average of $71.24.

On an income basis, those in the $100,000+ bracket spent an average of $72.19 per pair; the $75,000-$99,999 bracket averaged $68.95 per pair; while those in the $15,000-$24,999 bracket paid an average of $41.60 per pair.
