Eastern promise for Brazilian manufacturers
In view of the ever-increasing consumer demand for higher end products in Asia and after a successful trade mission to Asia last October, Brazilian Footwear — the Export Promotion Programme set up by the Brazilian Association of Footwear Manufacturers (Abicalçados) in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (APEX-BRASIL) — has organised for a group of Brazilian high-end footwear companies to take part in the next Fashion Access show in Hong Kong on March 31 to April 02 2008.
“Fashion Access offers the chance for Brazilian companies to show their own brands, their designs and high added value," said Heitor Klein, manager director of Abicalçados. He added that because of the low US dollar exchange rate, which reduced the competitiveness of Brazilian prices, exports of luxury footwear has become an attractive option for Brazilian companies.
