Having sponsored all five African teams at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, German sports brand Puma has raised its profile even further at the current 2008 African Cup of Nations, supplying over half of all of the competing teams  (nine out of 16), including the host nation Ghana and defending champions Egypt.

Commenting on its close ties with African soccer, chairman and chief executive Jochen Zeitz said: “The fact that 20 of 24 games in the group stage of the African Cup of Nations will feature the Puma logo is a statement we are proud to make.”

Along with Ghana and Egypt, other teams wearing Puma footwear and apparel are Angola, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Senegal, Tunisia, and Namibia.
