Bata launches new products in India
The rising consumer spending power in emerging markets is becoming more and more evident as retailers expand their presence and their product ranges in countries such as China and India.
Domestic producer and retailer Bata has launched two new footwear ranges in its Indian outlets in nearly as many weeks.
The Flexible is a new comfort shoe line that is said to offer lightness and ease while walking. Crafted in light weight, soft leather the collection also incorporates new technology in its outsole construction, which has been developed to provide enhanced shock absorption. The sole is crafted with flexible lines to allow the shoe to contract around the upper sole area while perforations allow the feet to breathe while the big-toe binding point ensures maximum comfort. A new feature in the heel is also said to support the body's internal balance.
The company also recently introduced a new high-end range of handcrafted formal man’s shoes, Westminster. Made of leather the Westminster collection is Goodyear welted and incorporates a “sandwich” sole which is said to create an acupressure effect to increase insulation and add comfort, while a cork filling is said to provide greater flexibility, allowing the shoe to mould and flex along with the feet.
