Nike, Inc. has promoted international general manager Garry Cook to the role of president of its footwear, apparel and accessories brand Jordan.
Mr Cook has worked for Nike for almost 12 years, during which time he has held various roles in sales and general management in the USA and Europe, including country sales manager for the UK, regional apparel sales director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, and general manager for Nike Team Sports in the USA.

Inspired by basketball player Michael Jordan, Nike launched its first Air Jordan shoe in 1985 and went on to establish the Jordan brand as a division of Nike in 1997. The company launched the 23rd version of its Air Jordan basketball shoe, the Air Jordan XX3, earlier this month (see www.footwearbiz.com January 9).
