Adidas unveils Barricade V
Adidas unveiled the Barricade V in Melbourne earlier this week during the Australian Open — the fifth version of the shoe that was first launched in 1999.
Designed specifically for hard-court tennis, the shoe was developed to combine comfort with maximum stability. The Barricade V is said to be the lightest version yet and includes an adiprene+ midsole insert for forefoot propulsion and efficiency, adidas’ Extended Torsion System for midfoot and forefoot integrity, and a feathered construction to allow for ultimate performance in multi-directional sports.
Since 1999, the shoe has been worn by many big name players including Marat Safin, Justine Henin, Novak Djokovic, Alicia Molik and Ana Ivanovic.
