America’s The Walking Company, which claims to be the world’s largest comfort footwear retailer, has closed its previously announced acquisition (see www.footwearbiz.com November 15, 2007) of substantially all of the assets of Natural Comfort Footwear, Inc.

One of the largest independent comfort shoe retailers in Florida, Natural Comfort currently operates eight stores, which will now be converted to The Walking Company stores.

Following the acquisition, The Walking Company operates 185 stores across the USA.
