According to local media reports, struggling British footwear chain Stead & Simpson has sold 25 of its Famous Footwear factory outlet stores to shoe tycoon Harvey Jacobson, who already owns footwear brands such as Gola, Frank Wright, Ravel, and Lotus.
The company, which reported pre-tax losses of £2.9 million in 2006, is also seeking a purchaser for its Lilley & Skinner business.
