The organisers of the footwear and leather goods trade fair Couromoda, which will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, on January 14-17, are expecting in excess of 70,000 visitors to attend the four-day event this year, where some 1,100 exhibitors will showcase over 3,000 footwear and leathergoods brands.

Underlining the importance of the show, founder and president of Couromoda, Francisco Santos, stated: “Almost 25% of the total annual sales of the Brazilian footwear industry are signed or initiated at Couromoda, the only trade fair during the first semester. And it is at Couromoda that the leather — footwear chain starts moving for the New Year.”

Last year’s event is said to have generated orders worth $2.9 billion and organisers hope to improve on that figure this year.
