The Original Shoe Company sells again

18/12/2007

Only 18 months after being bought by one sports group, ownership of The Original Shoe Company (OSC), which sells branded footwear from its 60 outlets in the north of England and Scotland, is about to change hands again.

Sports retailer JJB is preparing to buy the company from a direct rival, Sports Direct, which took ownership in mid-2006.

JJB said on announcing the proposed deal that it would keep the footwear brand separate and perhaps even convert up to 250 of the smaller stores running under the parent brand's name into OSC stores.
