In an attempt to reduce distribution costs and customs duties, Brazilian footwear manufacturer West Coast has announced plans to move some of its production to India.

As of January the company will begin an experimental production run of between 5,000 and 10,000 pairs which will be sold in the domestic market, with a view to increasing output and beginning to export its shoes from India to other countries where Brazilian products face import duties.
