American comfort footwear retailer The Walking Company continues to expand its presence on the high street at a significant rate. The company, which now claims to be the world's largest specialty retailer of comfort footwear, opened seven new stores in November and will open a further eight outlets across the USA before the Christmas holidays.

These new stores are in addition to the eight locations to be acquired in a pending purchase of the Natural Comfort chain in Florida.

"Our continued growth and the new business opportunity in these premium retail locations reflect the strength of The Walking Company brand and the growing demand for quality comfort footwear," said Lee Cox, senior vice-president of Retail.
